What is the purpose?

To organize affiliate members in the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA) into a working group that focuses on pertinent issues of interest to the Physical Therapist Assistant.  Issues of impact such as:

    • Licensure, supervision, and practice act language legislation
    • APTA policy and position statements
    • Education standards, current and future
    • Venue for the PTA’s to take on leadership roles in the national and state organizations.

How do I get involved?

  • Talk to as many PTAs as possible about the PTA ASIG.
  • Forward names, phone numbers, and addresses of interested PTAs to any task force member or Karen Oshman at the Chapter Office in Madison.  You can email or snail mail this information.

How will it work?

  • PTA ASIG will be governed by the bylaws in accordance with the policies of the APTA.  Our bylaws were approved by the Board of Directors at the September 28th meeting.
  • Create a Board with elected officers.  Elections will be held as follows

    Chairperson
    Vice-Chairperson
    Fall, Odd Years

    Secretary
    Treasurer
    Representative for each District
    Fall, Even Years

  • Put together a dynamic group!

REMEMBER WE ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS OUR MEMBERSHIP!
