(Updated February 1, 2006) The WPTA Medical Assistance Committee fields questions from members throughout the year as part of our role. In this article we share some of those questions and answers for those of you who may not be familiar with Wisconsin Medicaid procedures because your practices see a limited number of Medicaid patients.
The Wisconsin Medical Assistance Program (WMAP) website address is www.dhfs.wisconsin.gov/medicaid. Once at the home page click on the Provider tab. You can search for Handbooks, Updates, and other information by provider type, year of publication, etc. You can also call Provider Services at (800) 947-9627 or (608) 221-9883.
